Logic Pro X removes some Logic Pro 9 features in an attempt to be closer to the design of GarageBand.
Few Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) have the included audio plugins, virtual instruments or additional content as Apple’s Logic Pro X.
Logic is a composer’s or songwriter’s dream. It does do somethings differently than other programs and it has some old code hanging around such as the MIDI Transform and environment windows.
Logic is highly capable of all DAW tasks including multi-track recording and mixing, post-production sound, audio editing, sound designing, songwriting and composing.
If you are on a Mac, Logic is a no-brainer. It is too powerful and inexpensive to pass up. Even if you use another DAW, Logic Pro X is a welcome addition that is likely to inspire creativity.
Logic is highly customizable with screen sets and key commands that can be assigned.
Included Plugins:
The big edition in Logic Pro X is Drummer. Drummer can create automatic and customizable drum parts for arrangements.
With the Logic Pro X 10.1 update, the compressors have received a visual update. This is overdue and welcome. The compressor types now look closer to the compressor that the are emulating. For more on compressor types, check out the Compressor Types article on PlugRater.
