Positives

Awesome retro and modern sound!
Can sound classic, modern or timeless depending on the preset.
Can load DX7 patches.

Negatives

Just like the original FM synthesis, it can be hard to program and wrap your head around.
Preset browser not intuitive to new users.
Some argue it is more sterile sounding than a DX7...

FM8 is a Frequency Modulation synthesizer from Native Instruments that emulates and expands on the sounds of Yamaha’s DX7 and other FM based synths.

It has some great additions (effects and arpeggiator) that the DX7 lacked.
